ABOUT THE SACRED THREAD

Discovering the World Beneath the Words

The Sacred Thread is a new media initiative from Walking The Text that weaves together a feature film, companion book, and ongoing episodic series—designed to immerse audiences in the original context of Scripture through on-location storytelling in the biblical lands, accessible scholarship, and stunning cinematography.

OUR VISION

To see 100 million people living out the Lord's Prayer every day!

Walking The Text is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry helping people discover the world beneath the words of Scripture, so they can read the Bible with greater clarity, context, and confidence.

The Sacred Thread is one expression of that vision. Through on-location storytelling, accessible scholarship, and carefully crafted resources, it invites people into the world of the Bible and helps them see what Jesus’ first followers saw.

The Sacred Thread begins with the Lord’s Prayer through three connected resources: the feature film, the companion book Bringing Heaven Here, and Season 1 of the ongoing series, now streaming on Angel Studios. Future seasons will continue exploring Scripture in its original context, helping people encounter the Bible with fresh eyes.

The Film

Experience the Lord’s Prayer through breathtaking cinematography as we journey through the lands of the Bible, uncovering its transformative power.

The Book

Bringing Heaven Here invites you to rediscover God as a good Father who loves us, practice radical forgiveness, and find purpose in bringing heaven to earth.

The Series

Dive deeper with The Sacred Thread series — seven episodes that walk through each phrase of the prayer and bring fresh meaning to the most familiar prayer in the world.

ABOUT THE MINISTRY

Walking The Text is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry dedicated to helping people everywhere experience the Bible with clarity and confidence. We do that through digital media resources, original teaching, and study trips to the lands of the Bible — all designed to help people read Scripture in its original context.

We believe context changes everything. When we read the Bible through the lenses of its original setting — historical, cultural, geographical, visual, linguistic, and literary — the text comes alive. It compels us to live out the way of Jesus more intentionally, every day.
